Retouching + High Resolution Images

I include one retouched High Resolution image per look on your first 4 looks. After that additional retouched high resolution images can by purchased for $35 each. Retouching ensures that any non-permanent, distracting elements are removed from your image (blemishes, uneven skin, stray hair, flyaways etc.). Your images are also sharpened and polished to look their absolute best on any platform. High Resolution images are licensed to you for personal promotional use only. Any other licensing can be purchased separately.


There is a $100 retainer that is required to book your session. Your retainer is non-refundable but can be transferred if something comes up and you must reschedule. Notice of reschedule must be made at least 72 hours before your session for your retainer to be transferable. If you do not show, or cancel within 72 hours, your deposit is forfeited. The remaining balance is due at the time of your session.

  • When is your next opening?

I typically book 1-2 weeks in advance, contact me using the contact form to find out my schedule openings.

  • How do I book my session?

Just contact me through the contact form on this website or via email at lauren@laurenhurtphotography.com Make sure to include how many looks you are interested in and days you are hoping to shoot. I will email you back with my openings around your preferred days and once we set a date and time I will send you the link to pay your deposit and lock in your time.

  • When and how do I pay you?

I require a $100 deposit to lock in your time. This is non-refundable and goes towards your total session fee. You can pay your deposit securely online via the checkout link I will send you when we solidify your time and date. The remainder of your session fee is due at your shoot after we finish. You can pay with cash or card at that time. There is a 3% service charge for any card transactions for your final payment. I do not take checks.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Your deposit that you pay when you lock in your session time is non-refundable so if you decide to cancel it will be forfeited. However if you need to reschedule and notify me at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance, I am happy to transfer that deposit to your new session. If you no-show or need to reschedule within 72 hours of your session, your deposit is forfeited.

  • What is a look and how many do I need?

A look is a change of outfit, hair/makeup, or set up. Each look is to show variations of your range and how many you need is up to you and your team. If you are supplementing an established portfolio of images then you may only need 2. However if you are starting out, or recently made a drastic change to your look, I suggest a solid foundation of at least 3 to 4 looks.

  • Do I need makeup?

  • How should I plan my wardrobe?

I will send you extensive preparation info when you book that will help you get an idea of things that work and don’t work on camera. If you want further guidance we'll set up a time to talk on the phone or over skype and go over your looks, wardrobe, and any questions you still have. I also highly encourage you to go over all of your looks and wardrobe options with your representation.

  • Do we need to meet before the shoot?

Everything we would need to go over in person we can cover extensively by phone or email. If you are more of a face to face person, I am happy to set up a skype session with you to say hello!

  • Do you shoot in natural light or studio light?

We will shoot in my controlled natural light studio in the heart of Hollywood. I’m happy to go shooting outside if you are looking for a specific outdoor look, however shooting in controlled natural light allows us the freedom to play without having to worry about less than ideal light falling on your lovely face.

  • Do you shoot film or digital?

I shoot digital and connected to a monitor, which allows us instant feedback on your images and the ability to check out your shots as we go and make any adjustments we need to in order to make sure you are getting shots that you love.

 

  • What should I expect during the shoot?

When we meet, I will offer you coffee, tea, or any other beverages I may have and we will sit down so you can tell me a little about yourself. I will ask you about your headshot goals, ideal casting, and what looks you have prepared. Once we both have a clear idea of exactly what you are expecting from your looks, we will plot a course for our shoot, choose your final outfits and complementary backgrounds and then send you into makeup before we get shooting.

  • When and how do I get my images after we shoot?

My turn around time is 24-48 hours. Yes, you read right. You get your pictures back lightning fast! After your shoot I will send you an email with your own personal online gallery link where you can view your images and share them with your team. You will also receive a download link that you can click and download a .zip file of all the web sized images you see in your gallery. They are sized for casting websites and ready to be loaded up. A certain number of retouched print sized, high-res images are included in your session. Once you make your final selections from your proofs, you'll let Lauren know your image numbers and they will be retouched and turned around to you in 5-7 business days. Your final print sized images will be polished and ready to go for your personal promotion use. Additional retouched hi-res images can be purchased for $35. Additional licensing can be purchased as well.

  • Do you retouch every image?

After your session I will go through and delete any images that were blinks, or light tests etc. and then I do basic adjustments on all of the images to make sure the color, tone, and exposure are uniform. I do not do blemish, stray hair, teeth whitening etc. on all of the images that we shoot, that would be crazy! The images you receive in your gallery are proofs. Your final picks will be further polished, sharpened, and color corrected to make them pop.

  • Will I need retouching?

I highly recommend retouching all final selected images that you will be using in print and online. Your shoot comes with a set amount of retouches and I offer in house retouching of any additional picks for $35 per image. Retouching ensures that any non-permanent, distracting elements are removed from your image (blemishes, uneven skin, stray hair, flyaways etc.). Your headshots are also sharpened, toned, and further polished to look their absolute best on any platform.

  • What can I use my photos for?

You are free to use the images from your shoot for headshot, social media, personal websites and all casting purposes. All images are owned and remain the copyright of Lauren Hurt Photography. Social media posts must be credited and tagged @laurenhurtphoto. For any other purposes (Print Media, Press announcements, print & online Magazine, or Advertising) please contact Lauren directly.

  • Do you do Re-shoots?

I shoot with my camera connected to a monitor so you can see every images that we shoot as we shoot it if you want. Because of this, you are able to immediately see if you don't like how a look is going and we can change it up. My number one goal is to get you awesome headshots that you love, that look like you. I wont keep shooting if you don’t love it, and since this is a collaboration, I expect you to tell me if you aren't feeling it. I also expect you to come fully prepared to shoot – hair and makeup taken care of, wardrobe carefully planned out and prepped for camera, and you yourself physically and mentally prepared. Because of this attention to detail and the constant communication during our shoot, I don't do re-shoots. I find that the number one killer of a headshot session is the subject not coming prepared, and that is something I can't hold myself responsible for. So I encourage you to do everything you can to have a clear vision of your marketing and range, making sure your wardrobe, skin, and hair are up to Hollywood standards, and that you have communicated with your team extensively about exactly what they are wanting and expecting. If all of those ducks are in a row, we will have an amazing shoot!
